Hi,
seems to be ok.
Perhaps the paths are the problem if you use a subdirectory to install?
I will try to explain.

If you download OPN and unzip it you will get something like this
openphpnuke/html/......a lot of directories

I assume you are uploading this to the htdoc directory of xampp.
The physical path must point to the file install.php. In my example
the physical path will then be :
C:/apachefriends/xampp/htdocs/openphpnuke/html/

The URL will be:
localhost/openphpnuke/html

The install path will be:
openphpnuke/html

Hope this helps
manne

Newbie install problems

Hi,

I am trying to install opn on my own home webserver. I have installed XAMMP for windows and have been trying to get past the step 2 of the installation for sometime now!

I have created an open database called 'opneng' using mysql and the the directory in which it is installed is c:\apachefriends\xampp\mysql\data\

I have provided the following details in step 2.

Database host: localhost
Database driver: mySQL
datenbase connection string / options:
Database Username:root
Database Password:
Database Name:opneng
Table's prefix:opn
URL:http://localhost/
Physical Path:C:/apachefriends/xampp/htdocs/
Install directory:
Server Encryption Type: MD5

I am getting an error: The script tried to include the database layer but this didn't work. Check the Physical Path

Could you pls advice me on what i am doing wrong here..

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Jakes
